Applications are becoming increasingly distributed and data-centric and require scalable data management in microservice architectures. Traditional solutions tend to create complexity and bottlenecks, including managing data consistency, schema changes, cross-domain coordination, and more. While maintaining domain modularity and interoperability, a data-product-based architectural model can enhance discovery and ownership. This paper proposes a conceptual design and provides a reference architecture that includes domain-oriented design, metadata-driven governance and a self-service data platform. The results indicate that the proposed architecture provides greater throughput, lower latency, and better utilization of resources than baseline architecture. The paper also discusses key architectural components and future directions related to automated governance, interoperability of semantic data, and adaptive services of data platforms.
